Our Policies
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you can not make it to your appointment I ask that you notify me 48 hours before date of service that way I have enough time to find another person to fill the appointment. If appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours then you need to contact me by calling (leave a voicemail), texting, or message on email/social media. If notified less than 24 hours there is a 50% fee that will be charged or an invoice will be sent to be paid before rescheduling another appointment.
If for whatever reason I have to cancel your appointment or reschedule you will not be charged a fee and I will make sure you get the next available appointment I have, even if it’s my day off.
Please keep in mind, I am a business owner. When an appointment is canceled last minute it is very hard to find someone to fill it last minute even though there are a lot of people having to wait to get their appointment. This is also what I do for a living and I need to provide for my family as well. Thank you for understanding!
APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION
After requesting an appointment you will get a text/email saying your appointment is under review, at this point your appointment is reserved and I will confirm (this can take a few days or ever weeks depending on how booked out it is. If I see for whatever reason that day and time won’t work then I will contact you to find another appointment. Days before your appointment you will get a text/email reminding you and a couple days before the appointment you will get a text/email confirming your appointment that you have to respond to. If you don’t respond to the message with in 24 hours your appointment will be canceled.
APPOINTMENT AUTOMATION
After booking your appointment you should receive a confirmation text and/or email about your appointment and where the location is. You can also cancel and reschedule your appointment through these 24 hours before appointment. Please review the Cancellation Policy. If you can not find the automated email then please look through your spam folder, also add me to your email contacts.

frequently asked questions
1. What is a curly cut and how is it different from a regular haircut?
A curly cut is performed on dry, natural curls in their natural state. This allows us to see your true curl pattern, shrinkage, and shape before customizing your cut. Unlike traditional cutting methods, a curly cut is designed to enhance definition, balance, and volume specifically for textured hair.
2. How should I prepare for my curly cut appointment?
Please arrive with your hair clean, dry, and detangled, styled in its natural curl pattern (no buns, braids, or ponytails). Avoid heavy products or oils so we can see your curls clearly.
3. How long does a curly cut appointment take?
Most curly cut sessions take about 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your hair length, density, and if any treatments or styling are added.
4. What’s the difference between booking with the Owner vs. a Team Stylist?
Both are highly trained in curl care. The Owner specializes in advanced curl techniques and shaping and sets the creative direction of the studio, while our Team Stylists provide the same signature Moody Curl Studio experience at a lower price point.
5. Do you work with all curl types and textures?
Yes! We welcome waves, curls, coils, and kinks. Every curl pattern is unique, and we specialize in shaping and styling across all textures.
6. What add-on treatments do you offer?
We offer several specialty treatments to enhance your service. All add-ons must be paired with a service (they cannot be booked alone).

7. What are protective styles?
Protective styles are low-manipulation styles (like twists, braids, or tucked-up looks) designed to give your curls a break, protect from damage, and extend your style between washes.
8. How often should I get a curly cut?
Most clients return every 3–4 months, depending on their hair goals, length, and curl pattern.
9. Can I book a styling-only appointment without a cut?
Yes! We offer curly wash & style services for clients who want their curls refreshed, defined, and looking their best without a haircut.
10. Do you teach curl care and at-home routines?
Absolutely. Education is part of every service at Moody Curl Studio—we’ll walk you through products, styling techniques, and maintenance tips tailored to your curl type so you feel confident managing your hair at home.
11. What products do you use and recommend?
We use curl-friendly, sulfate-free products that promote moisture, definition, and curl health. Specific recommendations are given during your appointment based on your hair’s needs.
12. Do you offer new client appointments?
Yes! New client sessions are slightly longer to allow time for a thorough consultation, curl assessment, and education before your cut or style.
